All teacher participants in the Vermont MIDI Project have the opportunity to join our group in Noteflight Learning Edition. NLE is an online learning management system that interfaces with Haiku and incorporates Noteflight, an online composition tool. Teachers are able to create lessons, assignments and assessments for their classes. Video, audio, images and all kinds of content may be incorporated into an organized class. Students receive a class login and can work from home, the library, computer lab - anywhere the internet is available. Students can submit assignments to their teachers using the dropbox feature, do practice activities, take exams or simply create compositions on their own.
ACTIVITY TEMPLATES - View 20 lessons for grades 4-12 with integrated online notation software at activities.noteflight.com. This work was inspired by the teachers and composer mentors from Vermont MIDI Project who used NLE with students and classes beginning in September 2009.
Teachers with signed participation agreements for 2011-2012 may obtain NLE fee information from the project coordinator. Individual teachers will distribute usernames and login information to their students. Training and Information sessions regarding the use of NLE will be held periodically or can be arranged for a one-on-one session with Sandi.
