Young Composers Series: Writing for Keyboard Percussion

Rob Paterson created these videos for the Vermont MIDI Project in order to assist young composers in writing for keyboard percussion instruments. This project was sponsored by the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association through a Meet The Composer and League of American Orchestras Music Alive Composer-in-Residence grant.

Thanks to Kevin Christopher from Lake Champlain Access Television for his camera work and file transfer. Thanks also to the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association for instruments and location for the video production.  www.lcatv.org

Paterson's work as a composer ranges from orchestral pieces and opera to choral music and music scored for dance. Paterson also is active as a professional percussionist and pioneered the development of a six-mallet marimba technique.
